Taipa Area School is looking for an enthusiastic, culturally responsive educator to join our team in the beautiful Far North. This is a maternity leave position covering a diverse and engaging portfolio within our Junior Secondary space.

We are seeking a teacher to pick up the hoe and navigate our Year 9 and 10 students toward success. This role is primarily focused on English and Social Sciences, with a touch of Health. You will be stepping into a well-supported environment, taking over a timetable that currently includes:

  • Year 9: English, Social Science, and Health.
  • Year 10: English.

As a teacher at a composite area school, you will play a critical role in mentoring a diverse group of students who primarily whakapapa to Ngāti Kahu. Our vision, “Kia ngā tahi te hoe kia whakatere ki uta,” drives everything we do.

  • Curriculum Strength: Solid knowledge of the NZ Curriculum in English and Social Sciences.
  • Pedagogy: Ability to deliver engaging, innovative lessons that resonate with Year 9 and 10 learners.

  • Relationship Focused: Someone who prioritizes strong partnerships with whānau to enhance student learning and well-being.

Management units are likely negotiable, depending on experience and ability to take on the role of leader of learning for mathematics, Y9-13.
