We invite applications for a permanent English teaching position commencing at the start of Term one 2024. Achievement in English at Taipa Area School has been excellent over the past five years. Therefore, we seek an innovative and enthusiastic teacher with exemplary achievements in teaching NCEA English to continue this. The faculty is collegial, well resourced and has a relational approach to delivering engaging lessons.
Doubtless Bay is an excellent place to live and work. Our school backs onto Taipa Beach, which we guarantee is the best open-air classroom in Northland.
A schoolhouse is available for this position.

We are excited to offer a full-time deputy principal role for term one of 2024 to a passionate and dedicated educator who shares our values of Manaakitanga, Painga, and Mahitahi.
We are looking for a candidate with exceptional teaching abilities, knowledge of Matauranga Māori, and experience driving pedagogical growth and promoting inclusivity throughout our school. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be able to develop timetables and curriculum and create opportunities for cross-curricular, transdisciplinary, and authentic learning experiences.
Our school has recently expanded with ten new learning spaces and a brand-new gymnasium, and we’re currently building six more classrooms to accommodate our growing roll for the start of 2024.

We are seeking a candidate who puts ākonga at the centre of learning and is able to collaborate effectively with a creative team. Previous teaching experience with NCEA would be an advantage. If the right candidate presents themselves, there may be an opportunity for further leadership responsibilities within the faculty. Our Music Department works closely with Art and Technology due to the unique nature of our school.
The successful candidate should possess strong curriculum knowledge and expertise in teaching music across the curriculum. Those interested in a leadership position should have experience supporting and leading teachers to achieve the school’s vision.
Our Music Department is well-equipped, and in the fourth term of 2023, it will undergo a reconstruction of its classroom and performance area. This development will provide a conducive learning environment that connects to our stage and expressive arts area, allowing ākonga to excel.

Taipa Area School is in search of an experienced teacher with expertise in handling students with learning needs. The position will commence at the start of 2024. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional interpersonal abilities and a strong desire to support students under mainstream schools’ ongoing resourcing scheme (ORS). This teacher will function as part of the learning support team, working alongside class teachers, MOE special education personnel, support staff, and the student’s family/whānau.
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- Valid teacher registration in New Zealand.
- Prior experience working with special needs students with moderate to severe intellectual needs, funded by ORS.
- Capability to foster collaborative relationships with the staff at Taipa Area School by exchanging innovative practices and ideas.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
